And that was the whole concept behind The Jeffersons. A black couple living in a nice condo... WHAAAA? What wacky hijinx! The lyrics to the Jeffersons theme song are about "Hooray, we don't have to live in the ghetto!" and nothing else. Their maid was black though.. a white maid would have been too controversial, seriously.
