People criticize the US for having too many patriotic songs that involve either war or God. To them I say at least none of ours are about the glory of a homeless man who commits suicide after stealing a sheep.
To be fair, the US national anthem is about England kicking our asses, and the music was intentionally written to be nearly impossible to sing (but good on electric guitar).
