I was seven when this was released, and at the time MTV was growing and so was lip-synching.

There were a few shows on Saturday afternoon that were sort of like Star Search, but only for lip-synching and people would sort of act out the lyrics to the songs and you had a lot of those people you used to see on "Funniest Home Videos" who were dressed up as a guy and a girl split down the middle mouthing to duets, usually to that song by Lionel Ritchie and Diana Ross.

Anyway, on one of those shows, this guy who looked just like Curly acted out the song and "sang" it and won the contest and they brought him back for three weeks in a row.

In my seven year old mind, this was the best thing to ever happen on TV.
