i voted for this in the hopper because i think this is dumb. dumb in an evil way, because anyone who is being ironic ironically is the worst kind of evil. well, 4 stars worth of the worst kind of evil.

chumbucket - 2008-09-26

oh my god, labcoat, clipboard and the entertaining extra acting of people in background. put this in the vault and forget about it forever please

zatojones - 2008-09-26

i guess the topic is sort of interesting, but the chick in the back needs to not be there

pillowtalkpillowtalk - 2008-09-26

I thought a meme was awesome because we all knew that it was a fleeting piece of unreality in a world which has become too caught up in its own bull shit. Hence the irony. Still four stars if only for the irony that never ends

Cube - 2008-09-26

All credibility was lost when the "original" clip had the speech in it. NES doesn't do that.

ProfessorChaos - 2008-09-26

Neither did the Genesis, really.
Which was the platform Zero Wing was on.

Cube - 2008-09-26

Gambled and lost.

But here's a free piece of trivia to make up for that: the Genesis was called "Sega Mega Drive" in this part of the world!

phalsebob - 2008-09-26

Sounds like a wacky topic for Prof. Brownfinger's 3rd year modern anthro class.

Cap'n Profan!ty - 2008-09-26

WHERE IS THE "JRR" TAG DAMMIT

HE WAS ONE OF US

Camonk - 2008-09-26

Why would you even talk about something as banal as this? No, knowing memes is terrible. These people should all die.

Hooper_X - 2009-03-19

Eh. I think there's something to be said for studying memes, in general, in an academic sense. Especially if you're into how languages and symbols are constructed and transmitted, something like All Your Base or DO NOT WANT or similar is a excellent case study or test bed for how information flows through networks.

Talking about it like this, though, is kind of retarded, especially when you can't even get the console generation straight.

I think there's a serious academic paper, even a book, to be had on internet memes and the ways they get distributed.

Nikon - 2009-04-20

But some people want to you why all your base are belong to us.

Caminante Nocturno - 2008-09-26

Remember how the baby boomers were snooty assholes about their music and their hippy culture?

I hope you're ready for the day when aging people act like snooty assholes about things like this.

Nikon - 2009-04-20

I'm ready!

Hooker - 2008-09-26

ONE STAR!

Aernaroth2 - 2008-09-26

Move Zig.

Although I suppose I should knock off a star for attributing the 8-bit retro trend to a 16 bit game, I simply can't bring myself to do it.

UnderANeonHalo - 2008-09-27

I hate this hipster shit sooooo much. "Hey guys I just discovered a meme older than the internet, it is filled with lols hahaha!"

"somebody set up us the bomb!" was the best engrish in it anyways.

DMKA - 2008-09-27

When an internet meme dies, it is to remain dead and mostly forgotten.

God, this would be like a video discussing the Star Wars kid.

afp3683 - 2009-02-18

One thing cannot be denied; human culture is headed in a very new and weird direction.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-07-10

Hating hipster shit is the hippest form of hipster shit that there is.

Memes are jokes. That's all they are. The funny ones are good. Unfunny shit like: "Arrow to the knee" is bad. KYM just allows everybody to get in on the joke, which is like kryptonite to hipsters, by the way. This will kill more memes than it will preserve.
