What's funny is how KQ5 was arguably the first major graphical adventure game of the multimedia era and they made this huge thing out of not only the 256 color graphics, but the digital audio and everything, and so much of it was just this insult to the players by basically subjecting them to same shit, but only enhanced with digital this and that.
What was also awesome was that when all the commands were done on the keyboard you could swear at the NPCs and often get some pretty hilarious responses.
My family made the jump straight from a Commodore 64 to a 286 and this was my first game. The graphics jump was so mind blowing it took me a couple months to realize how it was the worst game ever made.
I hated that little fucker so bad, and I never even played the game. My sister loved all the King's Quest games, though. I was a Quest For Glory man, myself.
