Godard's Drinking Problem - 2008-10-17
It was hard to watch this. I wouldn't have imagined I would, at some point, rather be watching Generation Kill.

I can't watch this. Call me a patriot, I guess.

I'm perhaps a hypocrite because I can watch a nightvision scene of "terrorists" being gunned down by apaches or predators, but I really have no interest in seeing realistic depictions of death. I consider myself to be pretty compassionate and sensitive to suffering and stuff. I guess since every man in my family has served in a war I feel an intuitive need to support our guys, but I also have pen pals in the Middle East, one who went through the horrors of the American occupation who has told me some pretty horrible things, and my brother has described some despicable behavior on the part of our boys as well, so it makes it real hard to have any kind of opinion on it at all. Pretty much the closest thing I can think of to describe it is emotional paralysis.

The Great Hippo - 2008-10-17 What are you, a reverse Cena_Mark?
I bet you look exactly like Billy Buttsex, except with a beard.

That was about the least horrific thing to come out of that war.
You bunch of spineless pussies.

There was a point where I almost joined the marines instead of going to graduate school.
While I regret attending graduate school, it looks pretty awesome after watching that shit. I have to go to lab every day for the rest of the semester, but when I get there my friends aren't going to kill me by accident. And after they don't accidentally kill me, my labmates aren't going to be told the obvious lie that someone else was responsible for my death.
With a little perspective, my life is pretty awesome right now.

Sarge is pretty frosty in the clutch.
This is a pretty depressing video, by the way.
