Except it wasn't, and Clinton was a cautious left-moderate who built a coalition made of sand. Only through a total destruction of the right via Bush could we get a real FDR in there.

So, so happy.

I also heard a pundit make the point last night that Bill Clinton didn't really have anyone riding his coattails into office because most of them were already there and he didn't help them get elected. Obama helped a lot of people get elected. So long as they don't show their appreciation the same way Lieberman did I think Obama will have a much more appreciative congress to deal with.

Oh and Bill Hicks was the man. So sad that we didn't have him to help us cope with Jr.

...and make his hilarious elephant falling over dead noises.

Hicks realized that, too. Hence his "Alternate angle of the Zapruder film" bit from shortly thereafter.

I'm not calling the Republican party dead yet, but if Obama and the democrats can start making improvements real quick, and Republicans nominate Palin in 2012, they won't have a chance. But four years is a long time, and 2010 is really going to show us how things will go.

Bill Hicks will never die

So much depressing optimism here...
