This is the greatest kunf-fu movie I'd ever seen. First time I saw it I watched a heavily dubbed, extremely trunicated (for time and content) and commercial heavy version on Cable and it was still incredible.

If you like this, you should check out Eagle Shooting Heroes, which I think is FINALLY on DVD now. It's an older mid-90s piece from the last golden age of Hong Kong filmmaking, but similar to this film, it's designed as a gentle parody of the sword and fantasy kung fu genre.

If you've never seen Iron Monkey, then it will blow your mind. If you have seen it, then I disagree that this is the greatest kung fu film you've ever seen, though it is goddamned awesome as like fifty girls kissing in a shower.

Well, the negatives are that it's shorter and "heroes" is misspelled in the title. But on the other hand there's no horrible dubbing. So it's a wash. Five stars! What a wild ride to get to my justification for that rating.

I saw this for the second time last night. Amazing and entertaining, though it does suffer from the Dragonball Z syndrome a bit. No one can possibly beat these super powerful people, wait there's an even more super powerful duo who can't be beaten, wait these two are even more super powerful. Well lets find the most super powerful fighter of all time. He can beat anyone. Except this other most super powerful fighter of all time we'll just pull out of our ass.

That's a cultural thing. It's a little annoying, but surely you don't doubt that it's only one flower of a beautiful fragrant bouquet of suck that is DBZ.

Actually Chow makes fun of that in Shaolin Soccer, there's a scene where people use STRONG KUNG FU to catch up to a bus, etc.
