Yeah, the focus on maiming was always weirder to me that the typical "dozens of retards run into automatic gunfire and die" 80s action scene formula.

Next time you watch a Steven Seagal movie, imagine all of the bad guys are just suicidal and actually WANT Seagal to kill them. Their conduct makes a lot more sense that way.
