Well if the limbs do become infected and amputated, I am curious if they become part the noodleing bait one might slather on their arm(because hey, human arms seem to work as bait, why not recycle). Its the circle of life.
"Dirty Jobs" did a show on this. The rednecks gave Mike Rowe a lot of shit, you could tell he was genuinely miserable (which means it was a good episode).
Just some guys having a good time. I don't see why you'd look down on them for that. I've known a few noodlers and they were all nice enough folk. Certainly lesser injuries than skateboarders or skiers regularly get.
Also those are some pretty big fish. The noodlers I know grab the fish's jaws rather than stuff their whole arm down its throat, but while that works for a 12-pound fish it probably doesn't for a forty-pound fish.
Fucking A man. I'm surprised they got away with only minor cuts. The thrashing of a normal sized catfish left me pretty leery of their spines. I can only imagine the strength that a 40 pound beast like that has.
Well, if you're going to get a catfish that seems like a pretty effective way to do it. Saves money on high tension fishing line. Wouldn't want to try to hold a conversation with them afterwards, though...
