Comeuppance - 2009-03-14

Why can't our national anthem be this awesome?

anvill - 2009-03-14

Doesn't matter what country "our" means to you, you're right. It's not this awesome.

garcet71283 - 2009-03-14

Imagine all sporting events preceded by this...

Caminante Nocturno - 2009-03-14

Oh, I have.

Hooper_X - 2009-03-14

Well, the U.S. anthem was just an old drinking song that they laid a piece of patriotic poetry over, while this motherfucker was composed EXPRESSLY FOR THE PURPOSE OF KICKING FUCKING ASS.

TeenerTot - 2009-03-14

Yup. the US should buy the rights to this for our new anthem. Or just pirate it.

HarrietTubmanPI - 2009-03-14

Pity most of the country was a depressing shithole for most of the 20th century. You'd never guess it by a kickass anthem like this.

AltMazter - 2009-03-14

Freud says compensation.

kelpfoot - 2009-03-14

Yes, the 20th century ended. Does this explain why you're still wearing Hammer pants?

LetsFistAgain - 2009-03-14

Russians do not agree

Aelric - 2009-03-14

Kelp: I just meant that Russia is not exactly a shinning example of great places to live. Now excuse me, my Hammer pants are getting moist and I must attend to them forthwith.

HarrietTubmanPI - 2009-03-14

Young Russians disagree. Old Russians know better. I've met plenty of old Russians. Russia under Communist control wasn't exactly a shining example of a utopia. Millions were sent to their deaths in Siberia, other millions of people starved, and a lot of people expected to be dead the next day just because the didn't agree with the government.

SolRo - 2009-03-14

You do know that russia wasn't always controlled by stalin, right? Of course you don't.

Goethe and ernie - 2009-03-14

My bandmate bought me this on vinyl. Best present ever.

Hooper_X - 2009-03-14

Also: Is it bad that I half expected this to be a rickroll?

(because seriously, national anthem of the internet.)

Aelric - 2009-03-14

I kinda take offense that you would think I would rickroll anyone ever, nonetheless over a year after rickrolling stopped being funny (i.e.: the first time).

Hooper_X - 2009-03-14

Nothing personal, man. I'm just saying. It's the national anthem of the internet.

mcsancherson - 2009-03-14

when the internet revolution comes your kind is first against the wall

Desidiosus - 2009-03-14

Is it bad that I stood up, hand on heart, a tear in my eye?

This is the most beautiful thing ever.

godot - 2009-03-14

Right up there with "La Marseillaise" as best national anthem. But I still prefer "The Internationale" (also French in origin).

pastorofmuppets - 2009-03-16

The Internationale is also my favorite. Way to steal my post. Now how am I gonna feed my kids?

Cube - 2009-03-14

MC Hammer & Sickle

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2009-03-15

This totally makes me want to cossack up in the house.

Rudy - 2009-03-16

I miss Nicolai Volkoff.

Man Who Fights Like Woman - 2009-03-17

I listen to this song every morning to help get ready for the day.

It is my dream that a woman will stand under my window with a boombox and play this at full volume one day.

That Russia planned to change its anthem to anything less awesome than this was a travesty, and I hope that one day they get around to resetting the bells in the Peter and Paul Cathedrals' bell tower to play this again.

Bozo - 2009-06-02

continuing the perfect score
