I still cant tell if im proud of gian ghomeshi for being so polite and Canadian or if im embarrassed for him letting himself be pushed around by such a colossal asshole
Also what the hell is wrong with billy bob here?! is that a hangover? sleep deprvation, Alzheimers?
|
Triggerbaby - 2009-04-09 My friend was telling me about this interview yesterday. She said that Billy was angry for being referred to as an actor (I suppose he is clearly now a musician) and went all petulant manchild.
|
|
bias - 2009-04-09 yeah i get that he was upset about the actor thing but... i mean if you watch billy's facial expressions here and listen to his responses they're really weird. Maybe he thought he was doing a clever troll or something, but to me he looked like some part of his brain wasn't functioning properly

What a fucking baby.
|
Hay Belly - 2009-04-09 Really? I thought he was pissed that the rest of the band was going to be ignored. Maybe every interviewer only asks him the questions and he was fed up? This was how my BF used to respond at Land Cruiser meets, as people always ignored me and talked to him, the only guy there who had no interest in FJ40s. Got him irritated too.
|
futurebot - 2009-04-09 haha, your boyfriend sulked insanely because people wanted to talk to him about trucks
|
hornung - 2009-04-09
what kind of musician wears a toupee to a radio interview?
put on the doorag like everybody else billy bob.

Dutch Oven Fresh Pie - 2009-04-09
He's not Tom Petty, but he does look like Tom Petty's character on King of the Hill.
|
Rape Ape - 2009-04-09
"You wouldn't say that to Tom Petty." Well, you're not Tom fucking Petty are you? Interviewer was way too nice.

sosage - 2009-04-09
I'm not an actor rawr!

Colonel Cowlung - 2009-04-09
I kept waiting for Unknown Hinson to show up and straighten him out.
|
Lindner - 2009-04-09 I'd pay to see that...
|
Billie_Joe_Buttfuck - 2009-04-09 I'd pay to see that happen at random times.
Be watching the food network, and then BAM, Unknown Hinson.
Mythbusters proving the Universe just happened as opposed to being created with special guest Unknown Hinson
Watching a Presidential address, ending with 'now ladies and gentlemen, Unknown Hinson'.
|
Hooker - 2009-04-09
Has he quit acting until his next movie comes out and everything, too?
|
Frank Rizzo - 2009-04-09
I dont think he's trying to be a dick, he just wants to come across as a weird, misunderstood eccentric artist.
he failed hilariously.

Trolling opportunities abound! Go to one of many discussion threads out there and start insanely defending Billy Bob.
Here is one (check out Stevie Ray)

svraz - 2009-04-09 Stevie Ray has become a dissapointment. Others have stepped up to bat though.

You know, at first, I thought maybe it was a tepid attempt to emulate, say, Johnny Rotten. But when it's clear that he's upset that the interviewer mentioned that BBT has a career outside of music.
Watching it again, you can already see the look of impending doom on Danny Baker's face when he's introduced.
What a fucking baby.
I enjoy how when it's obvious that what's upsetting Thornton is the mention that he's an actor, that Ghomeshi ends up mentioning it so much more than if commander douchetruck had just gotten on with it.
|
8bitwintermute - 2009-04-10 Yeah, I was thinking that. Thornton acting like a complete queen over "actor" being mentioned, and going on and on about people being "instructed" not to mention it made him seem more like a prima dona actor than anything else.

wtf japan - 2009-04-09
Is that UNKNOWN FUCKING HINSON?????

halon - 2009-04-09
Holy shit, what a phenomenal manbaby.

Ruteger - 2009-04-10
The next night during his Toronto performance, Billy kept stopping the set to complain about the a-hole interviewer. This was returned with booing and people calling out 'Here comes the gravy!'
And keeping up with his recent attitude the band canceled the rest of the Canadian stops on the tour, but the official reasoning was that one or more of the band members had the flu.

Mm-hmm, I reckon

CornOnTheCabre - 2009-04-12
sling blade's been listening to too many Bright Eyes albums.

Maru - 2012-11-19
What I like best is how terrified his bandmates are. They're like abused children.
