Look, it doesn't even have to be true. Just say you love him. He's really sensitive and he'll get really pissed if you don't. Just smiiile and kiss his ass or you're out of luck.
I think it was the ending to this movie that gave Mimi the courage to say sayonara to crazy Tom and his crazy beliefs. Unless Tom left her because she has the crooked eyes.
and what the hell? is God insecure? does he need constant reassurance? And if he loves us, what is the point of a hell that you can't atone you way out of? Is hell his little basement kiddie dungeon? Does he go to the viewing room and rub himself? Oi, don't get me started on God.
This movie is fucked up, and I've never been able to figure out if it's supposed to be a pro-christian film or what (though I'm guessing anti-christian offhand). Basically it's about this woman who gets all crazy born-again and believes that God wants her daughter, so she kills her daughter and goes to prison, gets out, loses her faith, then discovers the rapture is real.
i remember watching the first half of this movie in secret because of all the sex scenes and then becoming bored with round about when she shots her daughter.
