Sounds so insane to me that I'd doubt even the involvement of drugs. This is just classic extreme batshit.

I actually saw this episode a few years ago, if I recall correctly he hated having legs.

the story starts, as so many do, with a crazy person

This was an episode about someone that has body dysmorphia, meaning he/she felt that certain parts of his/her body weren't correct. He is undergoing a sex-change (slowly) and decided that his legs were not right for him. He did not inject feces into his legs (that was taken from another part of the context) but rather some numbing agent (like xylocaine or phenol or something, can't remember) then took his own legs off with a circular saw. It was a one leg at a time deal, too, waiting months between each leg's removal.

Later in the episode, a guy born without legs comes out to call this guy/gal a moron. I worked for a TV station and this was one of the episodes we put on, so I'm only indirectly guilty of knowing about this.

Well then what's the deal with him talkin' about feces? That is the one thing missing from your story.

He/she woke up covered in them after self amputation.

I just watched an unadulterated clip from this episode. Apparently, he actually did inject his knee with his own feces.

I'm pretty sure that there's not two people who'll come up in Google when you look for this.
