I never give retail people shit. I know that their jobs suck, that they get paid poorly, and they make no decisions about what's in the store. As a consequence, retailers I see often will tell me amusing anecdotes about how stupid management is.

Having waited throughout college, I can say that these guys have no fucking idea what customer service hell is. I'm always amazed at how useless fucking people justify taking a paycheck. The customer does not care if you are put upon when they inquire about the item which they have come to purchase.

And yes... that IS what you're paid for. Fuckwits.

when i was a cashier, people used to ask me deliver times and availability of items. my job description was pushing buttons and taking money, not knowing stock. the problem is that people ask ANYONE they see in the store, and become upset when that person doesn't know. the time it takes to find out, the customer is getting aggravated and is all, "This is why I don't shop here, no one knows anything."

this is a falsehood. we know things that apply to our specific jobs, but we are not installed with some magic inventory tracker.

i always hate the complaint from retail workers about customers leaving their store a mess and them having to clean it up afterwards. its like the "what do you mean i cant stand here behind the register all day and do NOTHING" mentality behind it that i just DO NOT UNDERSTAND
