It's possible to be rationally opposed to replacement of incandescents with CFLs -- for example, if the lifetime costs for the CFLs were predicted to be higher than say, replacement with lower-wattage incandescents.
That said, the logic behind the boos is "If God din't want us to use electricity, He wouldna hid the coal under the ground!"
