I saw this. In a theatre. I hadn't seen the series so I assumed that this made some sort of sense in context. But no, after talking to other people who knew the show, the lesbian luge and every other fucking thing in this movie made no sense to anyone.

According to the director's commentary on the DVD, this represents Utena getting into some kind of trouble and gives Himemiya a chance to save her and herself.

But I can't help but think the director just wanted the two girls to make love, naked, on top of a speeding car.

At the post-movie Q&A they asked the producer/director (they had someone from the movie there, can't remember who) and he said that he really liked cars. That or the answer was lost in translation.

The "anime that doesn't suck" tag is the worst tag. Nobody actually uses it for anime that doesn't suck (Cowboy Bebop and Studio Ghibli). Still, 3 stars for crappy animation about something that is, admittedly, pretty crazy.

Though it apparently makes me a sweaty fanboy I will agree that Cowboy Bebop and Miazaki's shit is the only good anime.

But I still think a video of a girl being stripped naked by giant car wash brushes and made into a car definitely deserves a strong place on this site.

'Cowboy BeBop' is an overhyped, boring animation with bland characters and a standard (if well-executed) anime story. Nothing there is challenging or tackles any interesting themes, and I am not endeared to the characters an iota. This is somewhat mollified by an admittedly kickin' soundtrack. It's basically 'Lupin III' in space with a little 'Trigun' and 'Hellsing' for seasoning, despite the fact that 'Lupin III' was good enough on its own without adding any crap to it.

If 'Cowboy BeBop' were a band, it would be the Doors.
