baleen - 2009-09-07 Cena mark is not not of our own. It's really just envy.

Five for the Gonzales Cantata being so awesome that it punctured through the horrifically cartoony antics of Rachel Maddow's focus group determined personality. I'm not saying she doesn't report the news, or important news, or the facts, just that she's like a Baby Looney Toons version of John Stewart.

godot - 2009-09-06 Maddow had the exact same persona for the 2 years I listened to her on Air America radio on the morning show. There's nothing focus grouped about her.

memedumpster - 2009-09-07 Camonk, : ( All because I don't like a commentator's way of speaking? Goofy body language and over the top exasperation isn't insight. See the Cramer episode of the Daily Show for more insight on that. Any day now she's going to have her own "Haleluah" button. At least she's not an outright liar like just about everyone else who reports the news on cable these days. Just silly at times.
Godot, you may have a point there, maybe she is naturally bubbly and cheerful, some people are. It just seems like she's trying really hard to push it. I actually like her show and the things she reports on, I've submitted her videos before. Her antics just get a bit much sometimes. If her antics are genuinely her way of life then that's fine, I just don't like the idea of her faking it so she can get a younger market while supposedly reporting the truth.
Stopheles, I hope she's a genuine enough person to deserve your love, or you can show her the true secrets of being herself in a would-have-to-be-edited-for-Cinemax fashion.

I would really love it if this trend took off and opera found a new meaning and popularity with the world by taking its storylines from current news.

Syd Midnight - 2009-09-07 Someone wrote an opera about Charlie Manson, but IIRC it wasn't very good. I'd like to see Bush, Blair, and Iraq dramatized "Pere Ubu" style.
