I don't really expect anyone to watch the whole thing, but it is exquisite.

that's where your wrong buddy, there's a playlist for it and i can watch it from my couch! Ha haaa!

This is the best rendition ever and the only one I ever stood watching all, even more than once. It's awesome.

A definitive plus, worthy of being favorited (and I dont normally do that).

Well worth a million stars.

-1 because the average joe will not see the evilness of it all.

It's good, but I honestly don't think it's as great as the reputation. The flaws I can never get past is the ridiculously young actress as Hamlet's mother (younger than Olivier at the time) and the omission of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern.

But we both agree it's a better Hamlet than the Ethan Hawke one.

I think Olivier's is the more subdued and traditional equal to Branagh's interpretation, which is filled with risk taking, especially Act 5 in particular.

The version I did in middle school with me as Hamlet was better than the Ethan Hawke version.

One of the best Shakespeare movies, along with Polanski's Macbeth, Throne of Blood, and Welles' Othello and Chimes at Midnight.

With Peter Cushing as Osric and Christopher Lee as a spear carrier.
