The description refers to the Chamber of Commerce right?
Because there's not much dignity in busting into a room to shout "No, NO! We haven't decided to listen to basic science so as to prevent major companies from leaving us and becoming increasingly irrelevant! You've got to believe me, we are still spending billions trying to lobbying and airing ads that say coal and CO2 have only positive effects!"

Although the Yes Men do look stupid for not having smoke bombs.

bac - 2009-10-31

No doubt, The real chamber of commerce guy repeatedly saying he'd answer questions and as soon as the questions started he decides he leaves the room in ten seconds. Yeah, that was a really awful description.

joyofdiscord - 2009-10-30

While it's certainly an awkward position, it looks like the outcome is exactly as they would hope even in being exposed--the journalists grill the real CoC official about the issues that the Yes Men presented.

They can be silly at times, but I like these guys. Part of this is because I learned about them by being personally present in the audience of one of their ruses.

It's great, because everybody looks like frauds.

StanleyPain - 2009-10-30

I kind of lost my respect for the Yes Men when they pulled that shit of pretending to be spokesmen for Union Carbide and going on the BBC and saying that UC would give millions of dollars in relief funds to Bhopal, India (the funds that Bhopal has been asking for for decades). The idea was, of course, to embarass UC when it was revealed they didn't actually say that and put them in a difficult position of once again publicly refusing to help Bhopal, but while the intention may have been honorable to some degree, doing that was an asshole thing to do to Bhopal, effectively tricking them into believing it was true for a brief time.

The Faghorn - 2009-10-31

Are you retarded or something?

grimcity - 2009-10-31

Stanley, a lot of people didn't even know about the Union Carbide incident until they made it news worthy again. What they did was brilliant.

bac - 2009-10-31

I thought the people of Bhopal were all to busy trying to stop the random spontaneous bleeding of orifices to really watch t.v.

Syd Midnight - 2009-10-31

I'm sure they'd agree that it was worth a try.

sosage - 2009-10-31
