Fats Navarro is jamming to Kirk Cameron's hot anti-Darwin licks!!!!

HarrietTubmanPI - 2009-11-24

Five stars for Siegfried's Horn Call at 1:00 in.

Hugo Gorilla - 2009-11-24

I refuse to believe that someone at UCLA didn't have better equipment to record this or lacked the sense to know not confront him during band practice.

simon666 - 2009-11-24

Maybe a few years ago, but with the budget cuts, the UC system is letting anyone in these days. Top faculty is leaving, grad students are leaving for private institutions, and any yahoo willing to pay the 10k a year for a public school education can get in.

simon666 - 2009-11-24

Also, apply what I'm saying to the film dept too.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2009-11-24

With the cuts in funding it's actually harder to get in than it was before the economic shitstorm. But yeah, the UC, CSU, and community colleges in CA are in a world of hurt right now.

simon666 - 2009-11-25

No, you're right, I just wanted lament.

Thanks for that.

"When you strike at a King, you must kill him"

Unfortunately in a sufficiently deteriorated republic the "king" just gets voted out.

pastorofmuppets - 2009-11-25

Also found on there:
http://www.usnews.com/blogs/god-and-country/2009/10/30/how-cre ationist-origin-distorts-darwin.html

I read a lot of this stuff and that article is awesome in a number of ways, but basically she's funny and she knows her audience.

StanleyPain - 2009-11-24

Just so it's said:
There is no Darwin-Hitler connection. At all. Whatsoever. Hitler was anti-evolutionary science because the great and powerful Aryan race could not have possibly evolved from apes. And, no, he didn't ever once cite "survival of the fittest" as some sort of rationale to exterminate Jews, and even that is a horrible misquote/misinterpretation of Darwin's work.
He DID however cite the work of eugenicists who, in turn, modeled many of their theories on so-called "Social Darwinism", even though Darwin hated that term and was vocally opposed to eugenics.
Also, Kirk, neither Darwin nor Hitler were atheists. Darwin preferred being called an agnostic in his later years. Hitler was raised as a Catholic and, later, frequently cited Christian scripture and invoked Christian imagery in order to further his political agenda that exterminating the Jews and taking over countries was God's Will. Also, his substantial (and crazy) occult beliefs were a huge influence on the early Nazi party and especially the Thule society. Hitler was as far from atheism as you can possibly imagine.

Vaidency - 2009-11-25

Also, of course, even if Hitler had been a firm believer in Darwin's scientific theory, that does not in some way invalidate it as a scientific concept. Hitler probably believed in gravity too; that doesn't make Newton wrong.

pastorofmuppets - 2009-11-25

Sounds suspiciously like something HITLER would say.

spikestoyiu - 2009-11-25

Hitler also had a moustache and wore a lot of brown, so beware of bearded UPS drivers as they're clearly antisemites.

Merzbau - 2009-11-25

Not to be a dick, but: proselytize

fatatty - 2009-11-25

Yeah I can never remember how it's spelled. And google doesn't work as a spell check when so many people spell a word wrong.

pastorofmuppets - 2009-11-25

Microevolution is sort of a dangerous word at this point. When dealing with human sharks it's better to just say that there is only "evolution," but it happens by artificial selection (which is observed) or by natural selection (which is documented).

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2009-11-25

Did the human sharks evolve from us or did sharks evolve to become more like humans?

Either way, it explains most of the lawyers I've met...

dead_cat - 2009-11-25

So long as I get a new set of teeth every year or so I really don't care.

pastorofmuppets - 2009-11-25

That's how they afford law school, the tooth fairy gives them tuition and then some.

phalsebob - 2009-11-25

When someone tells you that there are no observed instances of speciation, kindly direct them to take the herculean effort to read the wikipedia article about it. I just read it in about 4 minutes and now I know more about it than Kirk has found out in 20 years.

bac - 2009-11-25

I love how she politely explains scientific principles to him. Not in a derogatory or confrontational manner but just as somebody trying to help someone understand something that they're having trouble comprehending.

StanleyPain - 2009-11-25

But, see, that's not how the game is played for Creationists. Cameron knows full well what speciation is. He has had all of his scientific errors and ignorance pointed out to him. He knows full well everything he spouts is garbage which is why, when he's not on camera, he loses his cool with people and starts to get snippy.
No, Creationists succeed the way they do because they create purposeful, wildly inaccurate definitions of scientific concepts. That way, they can make a particular theory or science sound utterly ridiculous by framing it that way. Then, they can cite that the science is flawed, because of course they're proving that their ridiculous, made-up definition is incorrect, which they already know.

Like saying that "If evolution is true, there should be a Crocoduck." They already know it's garbage, but if enough people believe that's ACTUALLY what evolution says, then it sounds convincing when they say "YET NO KNOWN SCIENCE CAN EVEN VERIFY THE EXISTENCE OF A CROCODUCK"

delicatessen - 2009-11-25

Well I have a crocoduck right here

quack quack hisssss

fatatty - 2009-11-25

It's also much harder to sell books about Darwin than books about how Darwin is the Hitler Anti-Christ.

Longshot- - 2009-11-25

I want a Crocoduck.

Lauritz Melchior - 2009-11-25

These stars are not for the content of the video, but for its overall effect: it's like "'Manos': The Hands of Fate" meets "2001: A Space Odyssey"

Or bad porn.

Also, Siegfried's theme on the horn.

OxygenThief - 2009-11-25

"Yet she increased her whoring, remembering the days of her youth, when she played the whore in the land of Egypt and lusted after her paramours there, whose members were like those of donkeys, and whose issue was like that of horses." - Ezekiel 23:19-20

muffinbutt - 2009-11-25

Oh, when the saints go marching in, Oh, when the saints go marching in! How I want to be in that number, when the saints go marching in!

BLLLAHHHTTTT

Jeff Fries - 2009-12-01

Oh no it's Kirk Cameron prothelytizing on the UCLA campus, how are we going to be more obnoxious than that
