Most of the moves were there in some form, but the animation and controls were so jerky that everything flowed in an incredibly awkward way, especially if you'd played the other Street Fighter games. You weren't so much playing Ryu so much as piloting Ryu's corpse after rigor mortis had begun to set in.

Fun fact: Supposedly the Saturn (and possibly arcade) version is pretty much Super Turbo with digitized graphics over it. Yes. The dumbest Street Fighter ever was actually the greatest chapter of the Street Fighter 2 series in a shitty costume (not that Hyper Fighting is bad, but it is no Super Turbo).

I remember playing this when it came out in the arcade back when I was in jr high school... As a huge Street Fighter fan at the time I was outraged at the crappiness. But after seeing the movie (in the theater) I wasn't that surprised...

No problemo - interesting but useless is the whole point of the site.

Its seems to me this bizarre phenomenon in which the people behind these projects like say the street fighter movie, believe in some way the film superior to source material(because its live action of course).
Then what follows is this Rube Goldberg-like train of thought in which if the film is better than the source material(in this case street fighter), then a game based on the film must somehow be better than the original game said film was based upon. Very perplexing, and highly infuriating.

It has more to do with the perceived potential for profits by showcasing the "celebrities" from that movie. I guarantee you that at least a third of the people involved with this shit knew, possibly even from the initial brainstorming session, that it was garbage.
