Dear God,
Me, this guy, aircraft, Himalayas.
Amen.

Bebido - 2010-02-25

You don't understand memedumpster! He uses youtube! He is a force to be reckoned with! OH MY GOD HE LOOKS LIKE A CARTOON!

MaulLove - 2010-02-25

I can't watch anymore of these. They are incredibly stomach churning, and I get way too upset.

Five stars for putting the E in PoE.

Oh crap, I thought this was part 2 to the Uganda video that showed up on poe-news, but it's not. Instead, it's the finale for this video, where the resident douche rants about sexual orientation weaseling it's way into a hate crimes bill named after a murdered black man.

memedumpster - 2010-02-25

Thank you for the context.

He pulls the race card to defend gay bashing.

Gayperson - 2010-02-25

ian mckellen tears pages out of hotel bibles so all gays want to destroy THEE bible. hitler was a vegetarian so all vegetarians are hitler?

socialist_hentai - 2010-02-25

Bad people have mustaches.

Innocent Bystander - 2010-02-25

For the last fucking time fucking Hitler was not a fucking vegetarian: http://www.vegsource.com/berry/hitler.html

Syd Midnight - 2010-02-25

Hooper_X - 2010-02-25

I had no idea that Windows Movie Maker came with a "strawman" filter.

Hooper_X - 2010-02-25

and p.s., even if there was a proven genetic link for sexual orientation, it would just lead people who take this guy seriously to call for Gaybortions.

pastorofmuppets - 2010-02-25

He didn't say genetic link, he said gay gene. You will notice that this moves the goalpost to a place where no one that understand genetics is willing to go.

On that particular point, I can't say I blame him. If anything is an abomination, it's the way science gets reported in the news (even shit like Radiolab... it bothers me how no one expects their audience to care about research if they don't sex it up first).

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2010-02-25

What's wrong with RadioLab? You're making me think you're one of those science snobs who dislikes Carl Sagan because he was too "entertaining" with his "Cosmos" program, or one of those old wargamers who dislikes any illustrations of monsters and knights in their sourcebooks when you could have more statistics and tables instead.

pastorofmuppets - 2010-02-26

How could anybody dislike Sagan?

Maybe I just caught some bad segments, but I felt like it was really talking down to me. I won't run away if they actually get into the details of the research methods. There was a recent one called "Numbers" where the guy mentioned logarithms and they all went OOH SCARY or something like that. I dunno, I'm not above giving it another shot.

TeenerTot - 2010-02-25

He like a perfect storm of annoying. His beliefs, his presentation, his mannerisms...they are all designed to annoy.

Camonk - 2010-02-25

Yeah, to annoy faggy liberals who won't face the truth. Like you, I assume. Oh, you've got some ARUGULA in your teeth!

Camonk - 2010-02-25

Really embarrassing post script to that comment: I couldn't remember how to spell arugula, and so had to go to my refrigerator to check.

BaconAficionado - 2010-02-25

You know keeping ARUGULA in your fridge makes you gay?

MaulLove - 2010-02-25

You went to your fridge instead of googling it?

Elitist!

Explodotron - 2010-02-25

If homosexuality is not genetic and therefore does not qualify for civil rights, coudn't the choice to be homosexual then fall under the 1st Amendment and the Freedom of Speech? Not trying to be snarky or anything, just trying to beat this douchehammer at his own game.

TeenerTot - 2010-02-25

Naw, what the need to do is make homosexuality a religion.

Valvados - 2010-02-25

I have a friend.

This friend is a Christian; I am gay and atheist. He doesn't agree with me liking guys; I don't agree with the tenets of his religion. We both know that neither of us are going to convince the other of the "right-ness" of our side of the picture, so, we don't. There are very few people I would rather go out and have a beer with than this guy. That's tolerance and mutual respect: it's a two-way--not a one-way--street.

I mention this because I wonder, if this guy found out about such a relationship, how big of a tarp it would take to catch all the little bits of his brain after it's critical failure to process such a thing caused it to explode.

Camonk - 2010-02-25

He'd just say your friend is a sinner for not trying constantly to make you see the error of your ways.

dead_cat - 2010-02-25

He'd just say your friend isn't a Real Christian. And then he'd start verbally whaling on you about how you're trying to kill children, or something.

Valvados - 2010-02-25

Oh come on, now. Everyone knows we don't kill children. We just kidnap them and take them to one of our Regional Conversion Centers.

pastorofmuppets - 2010-02-25

On that note: I know that I say a lot of anti-theist/internet tough guy stuff, but it's usually provoked by videos like this one. Most of the people I know are somewhat religious (obviously), and some are extremely religious, but we get along just fine. I know better than to bring up religion with people when I have such a minority stance on it.

I don't dislike Christians, here or anywhere else, despite jokes to the contrary. The fact that my username (a lame pop culture joke) has religious implications is an unfortunate coincidence.

Syd Midnight - 2010-02-25

OK that's all I need to see of this guy, we can check back in a year or 2 when he's begging for money to pay medical bills or something else amusingly ironic.

Hooker - 2010-02-25

I do like comparing homosexuality to black skin, making the clear distinction that whitey Christians realize black skin is unquestionably something you're born with, so blackies will be allowed a slice of cake. That is mind-blowing. I hope a crippled black gay man beats the shit out of him some day (soon).

phalsebob - 2010-02-25

It's my understanding that not all cripples are born cripples, and some people are just black on the inside. I don't really know what my point is there, but I don't think this asshole did either.

pastorofmuppets - 2010-02-25

I'm actually surprised he was able to mention handicapped people without immediately complaining about how there are too many handicapped spots in parking lots these days and nobody's using all of them.

This is progress, though it may not feel like it sometimes.

pastorofmuppets - 2010-02-25

phalsebob: I'll get started on the urbandictionary entry for "golden oreo" if you promise to start using it in casual conversation

pastorofmuppets - 2010-02-25

ugh. nevermind.

IrishWhiskey - 2011-05-08

So civil rights only apply to immutable characteristics huh? I suppose this guy's okay with his religion and political beliefs no longer protected under civil rights then.

I always figured it had more to do with 'equal protection under the law'. And no, equal protection doesn't mean 'everyone has the right to be Christian and not Muslim', or 'everyone has the right to marry an opposite sex partner' or 'everyone can marry someone from their own race'.
