What are some of those historic examples, our of curiosity?

It doesn't help that people who consider themselves Libertarian in America, at least those that support the party, barely have any relationship to 150 years of actual libertarian thought. So maybe you should define your terms.

I have a better idea : Creative Imperialism. Any time you can get a million people to agree on who should be our leaders, they get drafted and the voters get to make up the name of their office.
