The grad student clip making fun of grad students because it's really a grad student that wished it were still a grad student. I think your nuke has a black hole in the middle.
Still, fuck grad students, worse than Nazi's, amirite? You always go with second bachelor's degree when you realize your parents were right about liberal arts all along. "I'm be a writer", jesus, what was I thinking.

Matt Damon knocks over a poorly caricatured straw man to show us, the audience, that he is clever and not vain about it. Grad students make easy targets.
In my six years of grad school I never once met anybody as douchy as any of these guys.

aikimoe - 2010-05-23 The last thing Affleck directed was "Gone Baby Gone." He was recently in "State of Play" and "Extract." Sounds like his career is going alright. I mean, I don't know what kind of a career you've had in your chosen field, but I wouldn't mind Affleck's career.

...and a special note of gratitude goes out to Aelric and The Mothership. I was compiling my own personal list of reasons to detest grad students and I had forgotten "whiny defensiveness." Thanks for the reminder.
Now then, back to the list. Let's see...pony tails, check! Pretending to like opera, check! Actually liking opera, check! Amish beards, check!

Aelric - 2010-05-23 Jokes on you, Good sir! I'll never afford grad school!

I couldn't even take 30 seconds of this clip, and yet I can watch like ten minutes of pus popping videos.

Matt Damon's career rode entirely on roles were he is a natural genius at something while spurning THE MAN who wants him to utilize his talents for something more than rubbing THE MAN's face in it: Good Will Hunting, Rounders, Dogma, The Talented Mr. Ripley, the Jason Bourne trilogy.
I think it appeals to people who want to be awesome at something but lack the drive or talent to pursue that goal which even if they achieved would probably just use it to exercise some chip on their shoulder.
