Yes, but I think we already new asians couldn't drive.

Ursa_minor - 2010-06-15

I defenitly new that.

Nicol - 2010-06-15

Yeah. It's nothing knew.

dickshapedfood - 2010-06-15

...and drunk people can't spell.

mouser - 2010-06-15

Self-regulating population control is failing.

A society without personal liability.

Also notice the relative lack of anger among those struck. If this happened most places in the USA, the first reaction would be shouting and arm waving.

augias - 2010-06-15

Because everybody knows martial arts in China, they are wary of hubris and measure their opponent.

Desidiosus - 2010-06-15

Also they aren't all issued guns with their birth certificates like you American imperialist running dogs.

Robin Kestrel - 2010-06-15

This. I was expecting some kung-fu fighting to break out, but everyone was preternaturally calm.

Ursa_minor - 2010-06-15

Well, why is he standing in the middle of the road?

Hay Belly - 2010-06-15

They were using the car bumper instead of their knee.

Tuan Jim - 2010-06-15

Are there traffic lights at these intersections?

Don't tell me, let me imagine that there aren't.

Discordia - 2010-06-15

I was in China last year and I loved the traffic. In America people have an expectation of a "Right of way." This concept does not exist in China. In China there is an expectation of "I'll get run over." So keep moving and don't hesitate. For the most part it works quite well.

Cyberblah - 2010-06-15

I saw a Chinese driving school a few years ago (on the runway of an old WWII Flying Tigers base). It seemed to consist entirely of students driving SUVs very slowly in a tight circle, well worn into the clay of the field.

misterbuns - 2013-11-30

Works quite well, huh?

Slagathor - 2010-06-15

3:45 or so... the entire god damn road is open and yet two people on tiny scooters or bicycles or whatever somehow manage to ride directly into each other. It's like they're high or something. How is it even remotely possible?

TheQuakeSoldier - 2010-06-15

They can't see very well with those squinty eyes.

hammsangwich - 2010-06-15

This video proves two things: Chinese cars don't have brakes, and Chinese people don't have peripheral vision.

crojo - 2010-06-15

Or helmets :(

Ersatz - 2010-06-15

Looking for cross traffic is counter-revolutionary.

tmavomodry - 2010-06-15

There is apparently no such thing as a four way stop in China.

Paracelsus - 2010-06-15

Whatever happened to, "I see a larger object coming and I will adjust my speed to avoid it?"

glasseye - 2010-06-16

It's a sign of weakness, apparently.

I think this is related to the douchebags in the south who speed up to block people who are merging.

Chalkdust - 2010-06-15

living in China must be amazing! every day is like bumper cars
