I say declare all of BPs assets property of the state immediately and if they complain, arrest any BP employees on American soil.
It's really simple if you aren't a little bitch that sucks the assholes of oil executives.
|
Old_Zircon - 2010-06-22 Yeah, but the oil industry is more powerful than most sovereign nations, if you're in government 9on a national scale you're a little bitch that sucks the assholes of oil executives, whether you like it or not.

It's Edward Odama! He's come to save us!

Out of respect for BP's wishes, I will not be watching this.

Five for the film and for the conservative voice in the YouTube comments diligently fighting on to ensure that we all die stupid.

memedumpster - 2010-06-22 So long as you don't insist that language is innate, I will still love you. You should check out The World is Flat. Ultimate globalization multinationalism evangelical rhetoric spew written by a guy so starry eyed about it he doesn't realize it's the evilest shit ever.

Camonk - 2010-06-23 Okay. Full disclosure.
I hate Chomsky's linguistics, pretty much utterly. The other thing he's said that I agree with is that English orthography is pretty much ideal.
But I hate formalism. I looooooathe it. It's a backward, lazy, self-righteous way to approach the study of language which I, and many functionalist come close to equating with the study of mind and, therefore, consider it one of the most important things to study in all of human endeavor.
Look, I'm really drunk. But I hate Chomsky's linguistics and I definitely don't think there's a mystical innate linguistic structure. I'm sorry to everybody else who doesn't give a shit about this. But not that sorry.
|
memedumpster - 2010-06-23 I hate that you can't read a book on Semiotics these days without having Chomsky balls rubbed in your face. It's like he set out one day to explain why all the aliens in Star Trek speak English.

The residents themselves said as much.
Just heartbreaking.
|
cognitivedissonance - 2010-06-23 Really? The Residents saying anything would be front page news.
