Mom at 5:30. D:

at least one of the categories should be horror.

Sean Robinson - 2010-08-05

The video is pretty worthless on its own, but the related article:

http://www.trueforcedloneliness.com/tfl-articles/i-even-got-st ereotyped-out-by-my-own-personal-trainer-at-the-local-gym/

is pretty great.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2010-08-05

The link was in the description =\

Toenails - 2010-08-05

I just knew there was more to this story that he wasn't telling us, and the link Sean_Robinson supplied confirms it.

But I don't follow Dwayne that much, so I'm a little surprised of his use of the word "eugenics". I don't believe it means what he thinks it means.

Unless getting mad at somebody for skipping out on the workout schedule means that he believes in eugenics.

Rovin - 2010-08-05

Duane likely knows what it means, he's just shoehorned it in some contrived way to continue believing that he's part of some large-scale social oppression conspiracy. Note that he continually refers to what he's doing as an "adventure" - he avoids language dealing with weight to strange degree. In Duane's mind, if the trainer points out Duane is heavy and might be skipping out on the gym because he doesn't want to go, the trainer's technique of bringing up Duane's dietary habits and health risk due to weight go beyond a form of criticism to our portly friend. He translates it to anti-fatass hate rhetoric - not just in relation to him, but hate speech toward heavy people in general - and the next step for him is social persecution belief. Extrapolate the bullshit a little further and it could lead to Eugenics. As a TFL'er, overwrought victim-syndrome conspiracy thought is nothing new.

In other words, getting mad at somebody for skipping out on the week's workout schedule - when, according to the trainer, he does this at least one week a month every month - and aggressively pointing out the health risks of their condition - is contrivedly translated to a sort of genetic oppression in order for Duane to feel less "alone" in his persecution.

Sean Robinson's link to Duane's blogging on the matter reveals a bit more. It probably wasn't the trainer's best move to start cussing and appearing angry via e-mail toward this looney (surely he's had enough conversations with this dipshit to know he's a sad sack with a victim complex), but note that Duane DIDN'T start copy and pasting messages from when his skipping became the issue - rather, his second copy-paste of the trainer's messages is basically about estimating his weight and telling him to abandon Pizza Bites. From the jist of the message, we can assume the trainer told him frozen pizza was bad for him.

In other words, what REALLY chapped his ass in the beginning was someone pointing out that he really shouldn't be eating something... and estimating his weight before he started working out at the gym.

Old_Zircon - 2010-08-05

I thought the specific trigger for it was the trainer's references to him dying if he didn't take off weight, myself.

Old_Zircon - 2010-08-05

For dropping the word "eugenics," I mean. You pretty much nailed it.

Dr Dim - 2010-08-05

He doesn't say much, the stars are for the massive dragon print garment in the background and the "things of this nature" tag. What the hell does he do for four hours at a gym though? Can he even stand up that long?

Key points of the article:
-his trainer lost it because he wasn't coming to the gym for a week
-he wasn't coming to the gym because his brother's car had a broken mirror
-apparently he weighs 600+ lbs
-tough love may not be a winning approach with this guy

pastorofmuppets - 2010-08-05

10 pound dumbbells and things of that nature

Rudy - 2010-08-05

I particularly loved the "i can't wait until the economy goes to hell, THAT'LL SHOW ALL YOU HATERZ!" stuff. I really doubt he'd like to see the day a box of pizza bites costs a month's wages. Unless he plans to sit in a hole with his mouth open eating whatever wanders by seeking shelter.

pastorofmuppets - 2010-08-05

If I had a personal trainer and they were an asshole to me but I lost 40 pounds in a few months, I'd probably keep my mouth shut.

The fact that he's willing to continue paying the trainer even though he stopped going is probably good evidence of how little he believes his own bullshit.

Sean Robinson - 2010-08-05

Well, it is probably most indicative of intense self-loathing.

sjohnson301 - 2010-08-05

At 2:00 mark what he meant was "Eastern Daylight Time", if indeed this was uploaded on August 2.

Buggerman - 2010-08-05

If you are 600 lbs, you can't be very dedicated at being in shape.

Sounds like hardcore denial to me. I often use this mode of thought when I need to dream up an excuse to buy a 6pack on a wednesday when I promised myself to cut back on the sauce during the week.

Frank Rizzo - 2010-08-05

you mean the fatbody whos convinced its not his fault he cant get layed is in denial about being a lazy fatboy? That every girl is faulty and not him?

MY MONOCLE!!!!!!11

StanleyPain - 2010-08-05

When people as big as Dwayne do something like hire a personal trainer as opposed to just using common sense and some decent diet plans/doctor's advice it's usually so they have someone to blame when things don't work out.

Adramelech - 2010-08-05

Pretty much this. Speaking as someone who used to be pretty large and lost a considerable amount of weight myself.

When you are that enormous, you'll drop in size dramatically just by doing the most simple things. I'm not really familiar with this guy or the whole TFL thing, but he's clearly just doing it for the purpose of feeling sorry for himself.

Most people do not have personal trainers and maintain a healthy body weight. To imply that a 500-600 pound man needs a trainer or even a gym membership to drop weight is absurd.

Riskbreaker - 2010-08-05

The entire TFL movement is a big passive-agressive pity party and circle jerk, where all the bad things that happen to their members is the fault of everyone else but them.

Riskbreaker - 2010-08-05

Wait wait, he's going to the gym, yet he keeps eating junk food? Fucking master plan you have there Dwayne.

Lindner - 2010-08-05

Are you stereotyping him? HUH? HUH?

Frank Rizzo - 2010-08-05
