I never imagined Kevin Smith would start making documentaries.

WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2011-01-09

I don't know which I'm anticipating more: Smith handling religious extremism with the same nuanced touch that produced Dogma, or the Twitter meltdown when this bombs afterward.

CJH - 2011-01-09

I kinda wish Smith had sold this idea to someone with some actual chops, because a horror movie based on Fred Phelps sounds like a rad idea and despite this trailer trying to come off as some sort of Rob Zombie-esque thrillride I'm sure the actual product will be too drenched in the musky aroma of smug fat dorkola oil to really be enjoyable.

Riskbreaker - 2011-01-10

I echo this, i'll give it a check for sure, but i'm not expecting anything.

Ursa_minor - 2011-01-10

Holy shit. Well, it's one hell of a trailer.

pastorofmuppets - 2011-01-10

The trailer doesn't contain arguments about Star Wars lore or Jason Lee wisecracking. And it doesn't seem to be set in Jersey. All right, you have my attention, Mr. Smith.

Xenocide - 2011-01-10

Thanks to highly-skilled trailer editors, you've just seen the only 60 seconds of Red State that aren't about Yoda.

That guy - 2011-01-10

I have no intention of 5 for Kevin Smith. These are for you sir.

poorwill - 2011-01-10

John Goodman slumming it in a Kevin Smith film? Well ... maybe he'll be able to elevate it a bit.

NewHeavenSalesman - 2011-01-10

I'm glad Kevin Smith is here to ensure that the themes running through horror for the last decade are hammered out as smugly and generically as possible.
