This was my first experience with MST3k. Where I live the show was never shown on TV, but thanks to my local television network's business strategy of buying unknown movies with single time view only in order to appeal distributors, this somehow made its way on primetime. I was extremely lucky to flip to the channel to see this movie in its entirety as it was never shown again.
Ditto. I also remember I didn't quite "get it" the first time. I was laughing the whole way but I was also wondering what exactly the deal was with the guy and the robots and why they left the theater every once in a while.
After seeing this movie as a kid, I would always do the crunching sound while walking gag while working on science projects at school. As well as insisting step one of said projects should be "Goofy Clown Face".
I first saw this movie at a local indie-type theater that served alcohol. The downside to that was there was a sloshed girl who kept yelling "go to rocket number nine!" until she passed out.
I have fond memories of watching MST3K on Saturday mornings while making a pancake or waffle breakfast.
