After all the GOPs filibuster threats they never had to go through with during Obama's term this man was the only one to actually go up and talk for hours to try and stop the Bush Tax Cuts extension.
There have been Sanders types in other states. Paul Wellstone was such a man, and for at time, so was John Kerry. And to be honest, I kind of feel Wellstone's replacement is pretty close, but he's freshman senator and a former comedian. I think you can find them in the House, but it's very rare that people this far left of center make it into the Senate.
As a Vermonter, I see how he gets plenty of voter support here, and earns it. My only issue is that the guy gets "big issues" (like this one) but misses the details like, "how we keep Vermont a place where people work and live, and not just ski and eat expensive ice cream"
