"I'm sure he's not"

"...I'm sorry? You are certain that the small-time director, when promoting his low-budget movie in a press release, says that his clearly phoning-it-in actor gave one of the 'most convincing performances of all time', he was being completely objective? Is that the kind of stupid bullshit that just came out of your mouth?"

Bort - 2011-08-14

Wait, the devil isn't evil because he's seductive? I think the entire point is that he's evil enough to play off any vanity, pride, or superficiality you possess.

fatatty - 2011-08-14

Those aren't vices to actors.

kingarthur - 2011-08-14

Five stars for fatatty.

JimProfit - 2011-08-14

I think he was backpeddling, starting with his sincere beliefs on the devil, then remembering his audience.

Satan is being sued for "the world's problems."

So if he's found guilty of ALL the world's problems, does that mean the court has to set every other criminal it's convicted free? I mean, they've legally established that no one's responsible for any bad things they do thanks to the presence of this magic douchebag, right?

DrDoalot - 2011-08-14

You have put more thought into this than any person involved in its production. You have therefore caused me to do the same, and now we must meet in court.

Billy the Poet - 2011-08-14

I'm wondering what is included in "the world's problems."

Because I'm it would be nice if somebody would take care of the damn Jews.

IrishWhiskey - 2011-08-14

Satan is not omnipotent, nor the creator of evil and death. They once again are confusing Satan with God.

Now a movie in which Malcolm McDowell plays Old Testament God being sued for entrapment by Eve and his resulting curse of original sin that brought death and disease into the world, would make for an interesting movie.

Or Family Services charging God with parental neglect and failure to provide, also false imprisonment for keeping Lucifer locked up rather than assume His parental responsibilities. Lucifer gets placed with a foster family pending adoption. "How bad of a parent do you have to be to turn a literal angel into The Devil? Chain them in the basement and set the basement on fire."

Then Homeland Security arrests God on bioterrorism charges. "We caught the guy who made all that anthrax. Yeah, ALL of it." Geneticists testify that God was working on new strains of AIDS and ebola when apprehended.

Fundie preachers cross-examined as hostile witnesses.. "Did you not claim that God was responsible for the hurricane that killed all those people? And creating AIDS?"

God sued by a young child for not curing their terminal cancer.

Billy the Poet - 2011-08-14

"Blindside 2:" a confused young Lucifer is placed in the Gotama family and learns to trust and love again on the way to becoming a Cy Young-winner.

GravidWithHate - 2011-08-14

"I have front end points on this turd, please go see it"

Billy the Poet - 2011-08-14

I know quality... I toiled for a season under the cutting gaze of Rhea Perlman.

baleen - 2011-08-14

How did you find this? This is gold.

Corporate God King - 2011-08-14

I know right? I have no idea why support down-voted it.

baleen - 2011-08-14

CHET WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO HERE

Jet Bin Fever - 2011-08-14

This guy was in Class of 1999 about 20 years ago, so I hardly think he's a stranger to camp.

Meerkat - 2011-08-14

"I know a good part when I read it." says the guy from Wing Commander 3.

baleen - 2011-08-14

Hey, the man used to be in great movies. How his career tanked the way it did is one of entertainment's great mysteries.

Rovin - 2011-08-15

I always thought it was because he got typecast as the intense sociopath over and over again.

CIWB - 2011-08-14

I was sure that Malcolm McDowell was dead until I saw this and looked up his IMDB profile. I know that some relatively famous character actor died in the past year, and now it's going to bother me until I remember who I'm thinking of.

Jet Bin Fever - 2011-08-14

Peter Postlethwaite?

Screwtape - 2011-08-15

Is it a SAG requirement to promote films in a non-negative tone or is it on a contract-by-contract basis?

Sudan no1 - 2011-08-19

I think it's a "I'm a professional that doesn't stir up shit by biting the hand that feeds me" tone.
