As Lovecraft to cinema adaptations go, this one wasn't too bad.

Oh man, I remember this. Between this and Return of the Living Dead (and, you know, fucking Dark Star and Alien and Total Recall and being an FX guy on Star Wars and...), O'Bannon deserved a longer and better-supported career as a director.

You guys are insane. I adore O'Bannon. I have Return of the Living Dead memorized...this is just a goddamn nightmare but not due to any horror. The lead actor in this makes the lead from Scanners look like Orson fucking Welles.

Five stars for evil--not Lovecraftian evil, but awful direct to video evil.
