There is just so much to like about this clip. There's his frank acknowledgement of his own impending death. There's the fact that he's giving (and has always given) a large percentage of his income to charity. There's a philanthropist who acknowledges that he doesn't know how a charity can best use his money. There's the fact that he helped give us the Simpsons, which gave us such pleasure when we were young. This guy rocks.
Yes, R.I.P. Sam
A good interview with him and Marc Maron: http://www.wtfpod.com/podcast/episodes/remembering_sam_simon
Very interesting. Thanks!
Good guy
Thank you for making the Simpsons my favorite show when I was a kid, Sam. You're a good guy.
Perfect, authentic, sad. Video creators take note: this is also a shining example of how you should go real, real subtle on the music when you want to move people. Let the story sell itself, overdoing the music has spoiled many a well intentioned vid.
I didn't even notice there was music. Wow. That *is* well done.
Seems like a great guy. Makes it hard to reconcile this with some of the truly awful stories I've heard about him.
