I was watching this in the hopper, trying to figure out the appeal, and it occurred to me that this is the scariest horror film ever for cork trees.

That old Roald Dahl story about the guy who invents a device that lets him hear the sounds plants make and realizes that they're in constant agony all around him from being walked on etc. is one of his best.

It's so hypnotic. I ended up watching a bunch of cork videos.
Did you know cork is cultivated on 8.5 million acres of land and that Portugal is responsible for 50% of the world cork supply? And that cork is a renewable resource because the bark grows back?
