Oh no! Not Regular Show!

What's Regular Show?

poorwill - 2017-01-18

These stars are for me. I read your post, didn't get mad, and decided to reward myself.

Heh it wasn't meant to be a burn or anything; if it was on CN it must've not been between Steven Universe and Adventure Time, but it's been years since I lived in a place with Cable. From what I can ascertain it's kinda a hipster sitcom a-la Girls but with talking animated animals that run a municipal park? Hell, that's something we can all get behind!

>>....it's kinda a hipster sitcom a-la Girls but with talking animated animals that run a municipal park?

Holy shit, that sounds awful.

Oh snap I do remember this show, see?

That's like, really weird actually. Those were a couple of strange years, I blame heavy alcoholism and ketamine. But yeah the ostrich thing was great I remember so 5 whatever-stars.

kingarthur - 2017-01-18

That's nice. And it was such a sweet show.

CrimsonHyperSloth - 2017-01-18

I've only seen the first two seasons or so. I'll have to catch up.

It's hard to find "good" shows. This had something for every age group (that's been my experience anyways) without being a worthless mess like a lot of shows end up when attempting that.

Binro the Heretic - 2017-01-18

The finale got to me the same way the last "Bloom County" strip got to me.

CrimsonHyperSloth - 2017-01-18

For those that are younger and without culture around here (entirely me).

What was the significance of Bloom County? I've heard the name, I vaguely remember it in newspapers as a very young kid, but I've never had the chance to to read it.

Is it worth a visit?

OxygenThief - 2017-01-18

For me, Bloom County was my first real introduction to political humour. Granted at the time I didn't know that, but in between the stories about the strung out cat and fat penguin there was a lot of poking fun at political and entertainment figures. I also found it consistently very sweet and kind. I have no doubt that those jokes that were going over my head informed the person I am today.

I would recommend finding one of the collections and reading it through. You may have had no idea who Jeanne Kirkpatrick or Gary Hart are but the jokes still work and I don't think it's just nostalgia clouding my view.

Boxhead - 2017-01-18

Breathed is also doing a Facebook Bloom County run currently. I dunno if it's quite prime Bloom County, but it's better than Outland. (from how i remember outland)

Gypsy_Dildo_Factory - 2017-01-18

Wasn't there a Donald Trump character in that? I remember really liking the characters/ art in that and everyone was bummed out when it ended. Bloom county and Calvin and Hobbes were like the two most celebrated newspaper comics I recall in their time; the difference is I got the jokes in one but not the other.

Great example that good products do come from drug-induced states.

Caminante Nocturno - 2017-01-18

Eileen and Rigby's kids are taller than they are.

BiggerJ - 2017-01-18

Latent Rigby genes. His younger brother has terrifyingly human proportions.

somedongus - 2017-01-18

So Mordecai ended up making it with a lady bat?

Maggot Brain - 2017-01-18

Cute show, but the more I hear it the more I realize that "Heroes" is a gibberish song.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2017-01-19

I've only seen clips of this show. I haven't seen any of this and only a little bit of Adventure Time.

I'm officially old now. But this was a genuinely awesome ending for any show.

Spit Spingola - 2017-01-19

Oh damn, a proper ending.

Juice Eggs McKenna - 2017-01-20

Farewell show I never watched
