youtube-dl never really worked reliably for me, I switched to Internet Download Manager years ago and it works well so I guess score a point for capitalism on that one.

I used youtube-dl extensively when I didn't have internet at home in the US (because I didn't want to sign up for Comcast "exclusively available in your area for your convenience") to download poetv and youtube videos at work, then watch them at home in the evenings.

Copyright as a concept can't die fast enough for me, but it seems it's actually getting worse.
