How could this possibly be better? Maybe if the plumber wrote him a check and put on a campaign button. ...or if Obama thanked the crowd and flew away in a jet-pack.
Cube - 2008-10-15 Exactly... It's a bit too good to be a coincidence.
sheikurbouti - 2008-10-15 I'm not being sarcastic. ....and Obama really SHOULD have a jet-pack.
Unmerciful Crushing Force - 2008-10-15 Okay, jet packs are cool and all, but picture this - rocket boots, ala Dr. Collosus or Trever Goodchild.
Barring that, a giant robot. I don't care if it can't actually happen because, with Obama, anything is possible.

I thought his question was going to be about the F-35 JSA or something more interesting than taxes...
sliggy - 2008-10-15
They've been playing the audio of this on right wing radio. But not the whole thing, they edited it to
"I'm gonna be taxed more under your plan!"
"Well, I feel that when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."
SOCIALISM

I've been waiting for someone to say "trickle up economics" for a long time... He almost said it! He almost said it!
glenn - 2008-10-15
Obama's the nice law school professor.
I can't wait for the asshole prof to run for President, the angry genius nursing on a Diet Coke bottle refilled with brown liquor, just idly lecturing while throwing out inflammatory little statements in the hopes of baiting some opinionated jackass that didn't do the reading so he can try to verbally torture him to the point of suicide like Hannibal Lecter with the splooge tosser.

lolcoolj - 2008-10-15
I caught this on Fox News yesterday and the "analyst" after the clip said "Someone else said this a long time ago, I think his name was KARL MARX." I love Fox News sometimes.
phalsebob - 2008-10-15
How is this anything but reasonable? I'll watch the foxnews clip in the poetv queue to find out.
longwinded - 2008-10-15
I'm getting to buy a company.... wait a minute, by the Fox News interview, he already owns the company.
Three more weeks...
Squidmojo - 2008-10-15
I saw the 5 seconds of this Fox played. This is much better.
Have you ever seen someone explain tax policy in a way that was, y'know, interesting before?
Unsung - 2008-10-15
Ya hear that, Paultards? Flat Tax is bullshit.
kingarthur - 2008-10-15
HHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALELUJAH
No seriously. Obama said exactly what needed to be said.
And yes, he should have a jet pack just for this kind of thing.
Unmerciful Crushing Force - 2008-10-15
FUCK! I. NEED. TO. GET. ABSENTEE. BALLOT. NOW!!!
kennydra - 2008-10-15
This guy's like, famous now. Both candidates have been addressing him personally repeatedly in the debate that I am watching right now. You go, Joe!
Syd Midnight - 2008-10-15
Yeah, needs a Joe the Plumber tag if that meme sticks
zatojones - 2008-10-16
What plumber makes over 0,000 a year?
PurpleXVI - 2008-10-16
Five solid fucking stars. Why? Because this shows that Obama KNOWS HIS SHIT. He doesn't just answer the question, he explains more than what Joe even asked about, and then he makes a stylish fucking exit.
Obama may not have a jetpack on his back, but he has a jetpack on his SOUL.

Stopheles - 2009-06-05
Looking over this clip months after the election (it's June), it's hard to believe that this interaction is the one that made "Joe the Plumber" a walking talking-point, but then, the Republicans seemed (and still seem) intent on making themselves look as stupid as possible.
