Each year, over half (68%) of Norway watch this skit on December the 23. Close to the same percentage watch this on New Years Eve in Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, Finland, the Faroe Islands and Germany - often undubbed and unsubbed.

The only English-speaking countries that broadcast this regularly is South Africa and Australia.

+2 stars for this bizarre fascination with it in non-English-speaking Europe that I never knew about, and never having seen it before now, despite living in an English-speaking non-America colony. Maybe it plays in Quebec?
