This is what George Sondini was fighting.

Caminante Nocturno - 2009-08-10
Oops, she forgot to be funny.
Again.

Keefu - 2009-08-10 A lot.
baleen - 2009-08-10 remember that time when there was a commercial.

BHWW - 2009-08-10 I'm sure CN would enjoy these more if he just pretended Ms. Haskins was an underage Japanese girl with eyes that take up 2/3rds of her face, a tiny mouth, virtually no nose and hair a color normally associated with urinal cakes or dish soaps.
Lindner - 2009-08-10 In all fairness to your theory, I would laugh if she was raped by tentacles.

Cleaner82 - 2009-08-10 You assholes have ruined these for me.

Stog - 2009-08-10
Yeah, that Mitchell and Webb sketch did what Sarah Haskins is doing quicker and with greater comedic effect.
Stog - 2009-08-10 Exactly. With the exception of this one, obviously.
Lindner - 2009-08-10 Yes, a big difference. The short was funny.

Xenocide - 2009-08-10
But when will this genre be taken to its logical conclusion and start being used by divorce attorneys?
Caminante Nocturno - 2011-04-14 "Husbands! Are your wives annoying, pretentious whiners who complain about petty garbage? Maybe you should divorce her!"
BHWW - 2009-08-10
But it's true, husbands and men in general are no good at things, clumsy fools incapable of attempting simple domestic tasks without fouling it up or injuring themselves! Didn't we learn anything from like any sitcom produced in at least the last two decades?
TeenerTot - 2009-08-10 And don't forget those Hardee's commercials. Men would fucking STARVE without hardee's breakfasts.
Billy the Poet - 2009-08-10 Selective breeding. A generation of men were convinced that, if they were overweight and dimwitted, they would get to plow Lea Rimini (sp?), or at least Marge Simpson.

Operation Cornflakes - 2009-08-10
I love ya, Sarah, but this wasn't one of her best.
Caminante Nocturno - 2009-08-26 Guys, you've been rolling around in fool's gold this whole time.
fractured - 2009-08-10
It's not just about being funny.
splatterbabble - 2009-08-10
I worked for CBS putting commercials on for local programming. I loathe commercials and when you deal with hundreds (pushing into the thousands) per day, you can really hone your crapometer and identify memes that are just annoying. The Doofy Husband is played out and can only work on the most gullible or be one of those annoying commercials that you remember because it's annoying.
So Bravo for this pointing out the inanity of this meme. Hopefully we'll be able to have something similar for the "Children are too cute to be wrong" meme...
