That is a lovely image.

The audience isn't applauding at the end of the video, they're beating Alex Trebek with lots of little paddles. Bye!

"This is not a dream..not a dream. We are using your brain's electrical system as a receiver. We are unable to transmit through conscious neural interference. You are receiving this broadcast as a dream. We are transmitting from the year one, nine, nine, nine. You are receiving this broadcast in order to alter the events you are seeing. Our technology has not developed a transmitter strong enough to reach your conscious state of awareness but this is not a dream. You are seeing what is actually occurring for the purpose of causality violation."

It's like how audiences of classical used to stomp and yell but now you can't sneeze.

1901 my fucking arse. Bullshit and I don't care if zero wasn't used/invented when a fictional character was supposed to have been born.
Hay Belly
what?

oddeye
Zero wasn't always considered a number.

Hay Belly
What does it have to do with a fictional character?

Knuckles
There was no year 0 AD. That's why all centuries start in years ending with 1. This has nothing to do with lacking a concept of zero, either. Nor with whether Jesus actually existed. It's simply that a 0 AD would imply a 0 BC, and that's just silly, it goes from 1 BC to 1 AD.

oddeye
Plenty of other calendar systems use a year zero with absolutely no problems what so ever.

Hay Belly
It doesn't matter what year it is. You aren't one until your first birthday. It doesn't matter what religion you are either. Before that no one says you're zero, why is this so hard for you to understand?

oddeye
That's right, when you are born you are zero, after a year you are one. The 20th century starts at year one-nine-zero-zero and after one year it's one-nine-zero-one.

By 1901 it SHOULD be one year into the 20th century but it isn't cause of some general tomfoolery that no one has bothered to correct.

kingofthenothing
Well I tell you what, dude, you come up with your own calendar and see how well the world plays along with you.

oddeye
My calendar is just too hardcore and in-your-face radical for the mainstream.

TheQuakeSoldier
oddeye - do you even know what AD stands for, you retard? Anno Domini = Year of our Lord... as in 1 AD = 1st Year of our Lord.

While I have your attention, did you think the years 2000/2001 were something special? Why in the world would they be anything special whatsoever unless you place some value on the Christian myth of Jesus? Think about it.

5 for the weapons grade stupid going on in this thread.

Count to ten. There's your answer.

Well I learned something new today. In the event that all the contestants on Jeopardy suck enough to lose all their money, they are not rewarded with a 3-way tie and an opportunity to play again.
