I hate the state of mind that drifts in when I watch these videos, I'm not comfortable peering through the eyes of pure alien crazy. At the same time, though, I can't look away from the aggressive utter nonsense.
|
Blue - 2012-08-02 This isn't pure alien crazy. It's exactly how you'd think if your sense of really eerie coincidences was turned up really high.
If you are religious and believe in prayer or cast spells you probably already come somewhat close to this. It's a matter of degree, not kind.
|
Oscar Wildcat - 2012-08-02 So Meme, are you religious? (putting on my absestos outerwear now... )
|
memedumpster - 2012-08-02 No, I don't subscribe to the concept that intelligence preceded existence in any fashion. This undermines most religions (except maybe Zen Buddhism) and most flavors of occultism (except maybe... can't think of any).
This seems alien because life on earth is dependent on being able to work within cause and effect, under penalty of extinction. These humans live in a stable continuum of complete denial of reality, and yet survive. It's damned unearthly feeling when I watch it. I suppose I should get the same feeling from the religious, but I don't, because I always assume they're knowing liars with other agendas. When people really sincerely seem to believe it, it creeps me out, because their only agenda seems to be wanting it to stop.

memedumpster - 2012-08-02 Oh snap! More self aware than the religious.
|
Oscar Wildcat - 2012-08-02 I tend to follow TSR's line of thinking. That said, clips like this challenge you to consider what in your own life might be as delusional as this poor fellow. A disturbing thought and I suppose alien at that.

I lost count of the blue cars.

spikestoyiu - 2012-08-02 Does this mean that Dishwalla were targeted individuals?

How do you even know when it stops happening? Are there just all of a sudden reasonable numbers of missing hubcaps and suitably randomized traffic?
Given that actual randomness has more patterns than the human mind expects, wouldn't the appearance of randomness require exactly the same amount of effort?

Blue - 2012-08-02 First of all, he's in more danger from you than you are from him, by a wide fucking margin. If you get high, there's a government conspiracy against you. Most of us don't react with violence, and people with schizophrenia are no different.
Secondly, saying "assault rifles" are dangerous is like saying illegal immigrants are dangerous. "Assault rifles" are the least likely weapons to be used in gun murders. Remember, the news is a mirror image of reality. Everything is backwards. People bite dogs, planes crash but cars don't, and the only elderly people that ever die are celebrities.

Man, gas prices get any higher and my gangstalkers are going to have to start carpooling!
...
Am I right folks?

I've had a missing hubcap on my car for years. I can only imagine the psychological distress I've had on many a paranoid.
|
SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-08-02 I'm starting to wonder how much of a freak-out it would cause if you pulled over, removed one hub cap, and then gave it to one of these nutters.
At the very least, I figure your hubcap would get its own YouTube video with the words PROOF or TRUTH in the title.
