How the fuck was this guy driving in the first place? Do bath salts take a while to kick in?

spikestoyiu - 2013-07-07 He could have started his drive just off camera.

What confuses me about bath salts is that, supposedly, they're a loose umbrella of marketing terms that apply to a variety of drugs that can serve as plausible substitute for other, legal substances. But if that's true, why do all "bath salts" turn people into breakdancing cannibals?

Gmork - 2013-07-05 fund it.

Blue - 2013-07-05 For the same reason brown recluse bites are so common even in places where there are no brown recluses.
People blame it for things they don't understand. Pretty much anybody that has untreated mental illness gets assigned that label. Most of the people in the high profile incidents that gave it it's reputation tested negative for it.
In the 50s they had a similar drug that turned people into homicidal maniacs. It was called Marijuana.

This is what happens when all the good drugs are illegal.
kingarthur - 2013-07-05 I miss salvia being legal. I would not want to take it now while I'm on prescribed psychotropics, but I really enjoyed it the few times I smoked it.
Old_Zircon - 2013-07-05 When did it become illegal? It was legal last time I checked. Maybe your state outlawed it, but there wasn't much luck getting it outlawed federally because the active ingredient is completely unique and has a lot of promise for treating a bunch of different conditions (including Parkinsons IIRC), as well as being a really effective antidepressant. I'd be surprised if there were any federal regulations about it.
Old_Zircon - 2013-07-05 Anyhow, it's really easy to grow and if you aren't using some stupidly potent extract it is indeed a pretty positive experience ("pleasant" isn't exactly the right word but it's definitely not bad). I'll vouch for the antidepressant effects, too, because I know I felt AMAZING for like a week afterward every time I tried it.
Old_Zircon - 2013-07-05 Erowid says it's still completely unregulated, it's just not approved for human consumption. Must be your state.
I miss being able to buy a foot tall, fully rooted plant on eBay for though.
Blue - 2013-07-05 My state banned it.
Gmork - 2013-07-05 salvia? have some self respect, that is some very middle-school recreational drug usage right there
kingarthur - 2013-07-06 What can I say? I like what I like. Pot was only ever good for social gatherings to laugh at movies and other than that, I truly hate pot and how it makes you feel. Hard drugs are useless, pills are stupid, and alcohol is another drug I vehemently dislike. Salvia though, me and salvia go along jus fine.
Old_Zircon - 2013-07-06 Thinking salvia is "middle-school" is part of the reason people misuse it and it gets banned. It's more realistic to compare it to the way people thought about psychedelics in the 50s when they were still legal and apolitical, and if you don't approach it that way you might as well be the kid in this video.
I'm not a huge drug user by any means but I did my share of psychedelics when I was younger and it can stand with any of them I'm aware of.
Old_Zircon - 2013-07-06 I find it weird that anyone could find pot "social." I enjoy it, but I can hardly communicate. It's really only good for playing music or listening to music, as far as I'm concerned. But it's really good for both of those.
Oh, and it makes shitty movies funnier, but I feel like having a TV on just makes me not notice I'm stoned. Part of the reason I virtually never smoke it anymore.
