I'm rooting for the lil' Sukhoi.

"Mockbuster" made me think this would be an Asylum production, voiced by Anthony Michael Hall, Michael Gross and Charo. That would get 5 stars (and at least a rental).

I thought it was going to be from Brazil animated mockbuster powerhouse Studio Brinquedo (RATATOING, THE LITTLE PANDA FIGHTER, THE LITTLE CARS, etc...) until I saw Lionsgate was distributing it.

This is redundant, as Planes is basically a mockbuster to begin with. Disney can't actually put the Pixar logo on it, so all their advertising revolves around tying it to Cars so people are fooled into thinking it's a Pixar film.

Because for some reason putting "FROM THE STUDIO THAT BROUGHT YOU JOHN CARTER AND THE LONE RANGER!" on posters just isn't moving tickets like they thought it would.

An Asylum style low budget direct to video knockoff of an upcoming Disney film, that has next to no info to be found online, somehow managed to get recognizable voice talent, two of which have ironically been long employed by Disney, which makes it stranger that this hasn't been crushed by litigation.

Wonders never cease.

Today's "film industry" is just an open door to an endless pile of crap.

Crushingly depressing.

I expected a remake of the TV show, what I found was a trillion times more offensive.

A plane is an awkward thing to anthropomorphize, even more so than a car. Cars was basically just facial expressions and faces look even weirder on planes.
