They even rented genuine African Americans to bolster his street cred.

I was convinced this was an elaborate joke.
I wonder how much money his dad wasted on this.

infinite zest - 2015-03-06 But at least he's cool and up front about coming from wealth and loving supportive parents. I had to look it up, but Drake, save for a divorce, had a very similar upbringing. I guess I had never thought about it. Take for example The Strokes: maybe they're not that relevant these days, but in 2001 or so everybody hated them because they were these really rich kids whose parents basically modeled them into the perfect hipster rock band with their paychecks, when musicians I knew had been struggling to get a gig that'd pay for more than half a tank of gas for the drive home, usually just playing for a sandwich and beer. But that doesn't mean that they didn't have one outstanding album, and one.. uhh pretty good album. And besides their bohemian style, they weren't exactly hiding their affluence. I like that more than when your favorite punk band tries to hide the fact that they used to be a ska band or something. I dunno..

spikestoyiu - 2015-03-06 There's some on his YouTube channel. It is not amazing.

Being black is a choice. Look at the rap industry. People go into it, they come out black. You aren't going to sit there and deny Vanilla Ice, are you?

He rolls up into the recording studio with mommy. Supportive parents are cool and what not, but for something like music you just don't go all in. When a kid wants to play guitar you just don't buy him a Les Paul and a Mesa/Boogie stack. You get the shitty Squire starter kit.
When I was started rapping, I didn't have a studio or hired producers. I just had some bootlegged software and an old school Korg DDD-1 drum machine I got on ebay. I picked up new instruments and skills along the way, so now I'm more than just a rapper.

Enjoy - 2015-03-06 but what do you do for your photoshoots?

Cena_mark - 2015-03-06 That dork wouldn't stand a chance even though he has the advantage of his own stylist.

I thought the whole point of bragging was that you bragged about things you actually achieved.
|
EvilHomer - 2015-03-06 Nah, nah, see, he's got all this shit that he CAN achieve. That's much better than things you've actually achieved, they over with already.

I would love to see this kid at GOTJ.
|
EvilHomer - 2015-03-06 Question for Prickly Pete, or anyone else here who's down with the clown: is the Gathering's schedule open for negotiation? That is, is there some way for fans to request bands directly, and, if the band gets enough votes from the community, ICP will let them play a set?

This is on par with 9/11.
