That was fantastic. I jumped to a random point in the video where there wasn't any singing... just the instrumental musicians rocking out. And by "rocking out", I mean "slightly out of time, such that each one was hitting the beat at a slightly different moment, creating a lovely railroad effect." And then Axl started breathlessly singing, and it all went uphill from there.

Bridge school warms my heart. Look at how patient and supportive the audience was.

Soundtrack for the next Expendables movie right here.

6:29 sums it up for me.
|
Oktay - 2016-05-26 Ok, I'm an asshole -- after watching again, I realized those kids are not clowning around, looks more like they are suffering from cerebral palsy or something similar. I feel bad now.
|
|
Oktay - 2016-05-28 Thank you, maybe you're right, they do look like they're making fun, I feel less bad now. It's just that I totally missed the fact that they're disabled when I posted my first comment. That feeling will stay with me a while but as long as everyone knows it was stupidity not malice, I can live with it.

This is almost as depressing as that Meatloaf concert that's on here somewhere.

Killer Joe - 2016-05-26
Goddamn...
There's these couple moments where you think they're about to pull it together, and they just don't get around to it.

Could be worse.
They could be exploring freeform jazz.

Is it wrong that I kind of unironically like this?
|
Old_Zircon - 2016-05-26 That said, we sure could use a "moans of the dying" tag.
|
dairyqueenlatifah - 2016-05-26 Not really. Even though it's awful there's still something positive to be seen in a bunch of old farts getting up in front of a crowd with unshaken confidence that they've still go it.
What's soul crushing is when they know they don't got it no more, but are still up there lipsyncing to their recordings from 40 years ago because they want that paycheck. ie: http://www.poetv.com/video.php?vid=110333
|
gravelstudios - 2016-05-27 I don't think it's wrong. I didn't watch the whole thing, I just skipped around a bit. There are definitely some good moments, but there are some really bad and sad moments as well. Axl just can't sing Welcome to the Jungle any more. He's visibly out of breath by the end of it. He can't hit the high notes cleanly any more. That's just one example.
@dairyqueenlatifah: NOTHING is more depressing than Meatloaf's most recent farewell tour.
|
Old_Zircon - 2016-05-27 I kind of unironically like his out of tune wailing in this, though.
|
memedumpster - 2016-05-27 I listened to this as background noise, and I liked it when I pretended it was an old country western band. The moments Axel tried to Axel it up sounded the worst.

Clutching that last weak. dying, moaning, breath of yesteryear.
