The Triceroton boss was bullshit. I tried so very hard with that game to get good at it all those years ago.
Could only be damaged by homing rockets and you could only carry enough to kill him exactly if they all were used.
Sunsoft were dickholes and made it so the homing rockets could accidentally lock onto the boss's bullets. You have to time your rockets PERFECTLY. If you fuck up once and I mean once the boss will be unkillable.
This game was high art in that it used the Blaster Master engine yet managed to filter out 100% of the fun.
But they were sure to carry over the biggest flaw of BM: the mid powered gun actually being worse than the low powered gun since the wave pattern just hit the walls instead of shooting straight. In fact they AMPLIFIED that in this game with the more narrow corridors and slower player movement.
