They lose structural integrity when you cut out the windows, doors and possibly walls. It's advised to build regular carpentry walls and insulation on the interior, losing the limited space inside and raising the cost. You just about could spend a little more, building a much nicer house, the traditional ways. So why do it? Mainly for the aesthetic, like the thing depicted on this video.

I used to work at a place that built HVAC equipment for factories and had to load stuff into these things.
They turn into ovens when the least little bit of sunlight hits them.
Seriously, we had to ship certain pieces via separate means because the heat would have damaged them.
I hear about all this plastic stuff being shipped across the Pacific in shipping containers and wonder how it survives. They must put all those containers on the bottom layer.

I live in a trailer built in 1972. The inside is fine, completely livable, and despite some odd 1970s choices (wallpaper in one room depicting a bunch of elaborate, stylized wine bottles), it's completely fine. I bought it for $5000 and have lived here for seven years.
However, I've dumped probably $10k more in updating the pipes, electrical and ductwork, and the roof is flat and I live in Washington state, so I'm paying somebody to scrape the moss off the roof every two years.
A better option would be just to find an old trailer and make it work. New trailers are in the $30k-$50k range (assuming you're singlewide), and you'll pay a pittance for land space. So many easier options than this, which I assume was only done to prove some dumb point.

Here You can only have long-term trailer homes in 55+ communities here. Some of those communities are charging $1,500-$2,000+++ just for the space.
Alternatively you an fight against all-cash buyers (boomers or corpos buying homes to turn into rentals) over a shithole ranch house being sold for half a million in a shit neighborhood 50 miles from anywhere you can get a job.
I want to hunt boomers for sport.
