I feel indifference about this conflict between corporate brand entities.

Hurff blurff 3070 go up or go down?
|
Quad9Damage - 2022-09-22 It stays the same price, of course. "The days of Moore's Law are over, lol," says NVIDIA, expecting you to spend the price of a whole prebuilt computer on a luxury item GPU when groceries and gas are wrecking your budget.

Well, that's nice. My RTX 2060 still works just fine.

I recently finished Cyberpunk 2077 on a SCSI drive with an RTX 970 and it was also just fine.
|
Quad9Damage - 2022-09-22 That gives me hope. I am waiting for another sale before I take a risk with Cyberpunk. If it runs that well on a 970, then I guess I won't need $1600 for RE4Make after all.

Sludge Vohaul - 2022-09-22 'Well' is relative though, I had to tweak a lot of settings, it sure don't look as pretty as the promo pics, but framerate was mostly stable and it's definitely playable.

Quad9Damage - 2022-09-23 I think NVIDIA overhyped ray-tracing hard when the majority of AAA titles over the last few years have stuck to looking pretty in 1080p/60. I bought my Skytech RTX 2060 prebuilt before the January 2021 pandemic peak, with money I'd slowly shoveled into a personal spending account. Oddly enough, I bought it with the intent of the specs being Cyberpunk-ready, but I still haven't bought Cyberpunk.
I thought it was outdated the moment the 30 series was announced, but it turns out this push for power is completely unnecessary when it comes to the average consumer. I don't see anyone needing a 4080 unless they work for Pixar.
