Individual virtue is irrelevant. The role they play in the system is evil. It's like being the British Viceroy in India during the British Raj. There shouldn't be such a position, the position exists to do bad things, and having a "nice" person fill it doesn't make it any better.

I actually sort of agree with Ashtar, and I'm not even that high any more. Individual virtue is irrelevant, and therefore moral judgements are superfluous.. This is way beyond the point of the video, which, if I watched, I would probably agree with.

And it almost never helps, unless you want to do evil. Judging people morally inferior is useful in war, in genocide, and in propaganda. The Right wing media doesn't argue that racism is good. They argue that the other side are the REAL racists, and therefore hypocritical, and the hypocrisy is worse than the raping. The only problems this has ever solved are the problems of the powerful, e.g. the inheritance tax and the EPA. It doesn't solve any of the real problems of the people. Dividing is great for conquering, but in solving problems, it's superfluous at best, and harmful at worst.

Yet it seems necessary sometimes, which is why I knew I'd get opposition here. In reality, it's just easy. To judge someone else morally inferior is always available as a means of satisfaction, even if it improves nothing.

I’m sorry man but ‘billionaire’ is so far outside the realm of any nuance.

You have to consciously strive, constantly, to get there. No one goes “whoops I become billionaire” one day. You spend your waking moments underpaying employees and creating monopolies. Paying accountants to find any way possible to not pay any taxes while spending millions to lobby the government to grant favors to your business.

The problem is rape. It's not that rapists are bad people. Rape is a crime, and it creates a need for consequences and justice for the sake ,of the criminal's dignity, as well as the victim's. That doesn't require a moral judgement of an entire person. If it ever becomes necessary, I'll shove Elon's head into the guillotine myself... out of necessity.

I actually go to bed sad every night that so many people are in need and that, although helping them wouldn't take a lot of money, it would take way more money than I'll ever see in my lifetime.

But people who could fix so many of the world's problems and still have multiple billions left for themselves never think about that. Their head hits the pillow without a care in the world.

You're not getting it. I would lay down my life to prevent Trump from running again. He inspires terror, anger, and outrage more than anything else in my world ever has, but I don't hate. If Trump renounced politics, and asked me to forgive him, I would. That would be MUCH BETTER than laying down my life. I stopped going to the Stop Fascism subbredit because they're all sucking each others dicks, getting work up Trump getting imprisoned or (sometimes) executed, instead of stopping fascism. I don't really care if Trump is punished. Justice would be nice, but "America first," if you get my meaning.
The best outcome I can imagine would be if Don John Un gets into enough legal trouble that he's forced to make a deal that keeps him out of politics. Anything else, I think it will go badly. The tree of liberty will have to be refreshed once more, with the blood of patriots and morons.
